Betty wants you to be the first to know of an exciting social event coming up in March that everyone's invited to!
Better World Betty and Do Something Charlottesville (a new community citizen action group that wants to "do something" each month to make positive change in the 'ville - particularly action that helps combat climate. They are meeting the first Wednesday of the month in the Jefferson Room at the Central Library) are teaming up to present
**Bread for a Better World**
Tuesday, March 25
4-7
the Galleria at Main Street Market
We're currently working to get all the best local bakeries in town to bake a loaf in support of these two worthy groups and their mission to create a better world by making better choices starting right here in Charlottesville!
An integral part of Betty's recipe for a better world is getting people together from all walks of life, all ages, all sectors - business, city and county government, academia, volunteers, average joes and janes - here in Charlottesville and the surrounding area to create a community of like-minded people.
The plan is to eat, greet, and talk green. With your mouths full if you want.
We'll swap copies of Omnivore's Dilemma or share insights into the quest for alternative transportation or exchange a cool new energy-saving tip.
Loaves will be raffled off and a silent auction will be head for specialty loaves.
Check back for me details in future blogs, but pencil Betty in!
Peace,
BWB
